our values

love god - serve the community - be the church

During these uncertain and rapidly changing days, our values help keep Bayou Plaquemine Baptist Church focused on God’s unchanging truth. These values unite us as a body of believers and clarify the kind of church we strive to be. They also guide our decisions help set the standard for our various activities and ministries.

love god

Mark 12:28–30

An authentic love for God that starts with God-oriented affections, desires, and thoughts, that permeates our speaking and behavior, and then influences the way we spend our money and how we dress, and drive, and our forms of entertainment. Whether we’re eating or singing, jogging or blogging, texting or drawing, love for Yahweh — the one true triune God — is to be in action and seen.

serve the community

Matthew 20:25-27

We believe the gospel has implications for every part of our lives, especially the way we love and serve our neighbors. Every day, people in our communities and around the world have physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs, and we want to be a church that, in the name of Jesus, meets them.

be the church

1 Corinthians 12:27-30

The church is not a building or even an organization.  The true Church is the body of called-out believers who are committed to following Christ, will be subject to Him in everything. As His Church, followers of Christ are focused on fulfilling His mission and glorifying His name.
